ĐBP - In recent years, Điện Biên province’s tourism sector has gradually been turning its aspirations of becoming the tourism hub of the Northwest region into reality. Building upon the success of the 2024 National Tourism Year hosted by Điện Biên, after one month into the 2025 tourism season, Điện Biên continues to affirm its position as an unmissable destination for tourists.

ĐBP - Every year when the spring arrives, people of the Mông ethnic minority group in Tủa Chùa district, Điện Biên province begin clearing their fields on the hillsides, waiting for the rains to plant their new crops. During this time, the forges light up day and night, as it is when the demand for buying and repairing farming tools increases.

ĐBP - On the morning of April 13, the opening ceremony of the Bun Huột Nặm water splashing festival 2025 was held in Na Sang 1 hamlet, Núa Ngam commune, Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province.

ĐBP  -  On the morning of April 12, at the ceremonial stage of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Monument, the Điện Biên provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST) officially launched the fourth Vietnam book and reading culture day under the theme “Journey with books into the era of national rise”. The event was attended by comrade Vừ A Bằng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

ĐBP - On April 11-12, Mường Luân commune in Điện Biên Đông district organized a revival of the Bun Huột Nặm water splashing festival of the Lào ethnic minority people after nearly 50 years of obscurity. The event featured various cultural and artistic activities, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.

ĐBP - Vietnamese people have a saying: “No matter where you go, remember the Ancestor’s Death Anniversary on the tenth of March.”

ĐBP - According to tradition, every year on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, the Mông community holds tomb-sweeping rituals for their ancestors and deceased family members. This custom showcases cultural beauty and reflects the deep respect and gratitude of descendants towards their ancestors.

ĐBP - Every year, on the 24th and 25th of the second lunar month, the Bản Phủ Citadel Festival is held to honor the contributions of hero Hoàng Công Chất, who led the insurgent army to defeat the Phẻ invaders in 1754. Along with solemn rituals, both locals and visitors immerse themselves in the unique cultural space of the ethnic groups in the Northwestern region.

ĐBP - On the morning of March 23, the Điện Biên district People’s Committee launched the 2025 Bản Phủ Citadel Festival at the national historical and cultural relic site of Bản Phủ Citadel in Noong Hẹt Commune.

ĐBP - On the evening of March 22, at the Bản Phủ Citadel, Noong Hẹt commune, the Điện Biên district People’s Committee held the opening ceremony of the 11th Điện Biên district Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival.

ĐBP - Making handmade paper is a long-standing traditional craft of the Dao ethnic people living in Đề Tâu hamlet, Mường Đun commune (Tủa Chùa district, Điện Biên province). This craft has been passed down through generations, becoming an integral part of the daily lives of Dao women here.

ĐBP - Alongside the 2025 Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival and the 8th Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival of the Ethnic Groups of Điện Biên province, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has organized a press trip to connect social media influencers with key tourist destinations in the province.

ĐBP - Điện Biên province, where over 83% of the population belongs to ethnic minority groups, is home to a rich diversity of languages and scripts. However, cultural integration and modernization have led to the gradual decline of many ethnic languages and scripts.

ĐBP - The Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival is a signature cultural event of Điện Biên province, held annually in March to honor the beauty of the Northwestern region’s iconic flower while promoting local tourism and culture.

ĐBP - These days, at the Điện Biên district’s central gymnasium and the U Va Village Cultural House in Noong Luống commune (Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province), both amateur and professional performers, along with the graphic design team, are working tirelessly to rehearse, coordinate, and prepare props and visuals for the live performance show “The Legendary Tale of U Va”.  With meticulous preparations, the show is poised to leave a lasting impression on both locals and visitors alike.

ĐBP - On the morning of March 10, the Organizing Panel for the 2025 Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival and the 8th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Điện Biên’s Ethnic Groups convened a meeting to assess the preparation progress and finalize implementation plans.
